WHY JESUS CAME
Now that you know who Jesus is, this must be clear.
Why did He come?
[ X ] He did not come to start a religion.
JESUS CAME TO SAVE.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
His mission proves something is broken.
PEOPLE ARE LOST.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Sin is not just bad behavior.
It is a condition of the human heart.
“but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God”
THE SEPARATION IS A COLD REALITY
Your feelings do not dictate this separation.
Your good intentions cannot bridge it.
Every person is born with this condition.
You cannot fix yourself.
No amount of good works can remove sin.
No amount of effort can close the chasm.
Jesus came because humanity was completely helpless to solve it.
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
HE CAME TO RESCUE
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself”
Jesus entered our world to restore what was broken.
To pull people out of the dark and bring them into a right relationship with God.
UNCOMPROMISING PURPOSE
He did not wander blindly. He knew exactly why He was here.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
He came to pay the ultimate price.
[ X ] The cross was no accident.
[ X ] This was not forced on Him.
IT WAS THE OBJECTIVE FROM THE START.
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
Every breath He took drove Him toward that objective.
Do not rush past this.
To understand why He came is to understand what happens next.
Steel your mind for the response.
