HOW TO PRAY

You understand the nature of prayer.
Now you must execute it with absolute, biblical precision.

STOP COMPLICATING IT.
START TALKING.

How do you actually pray? The execution is profoundly simple. You are talking to God. You are not performing. You are not repeating religious formulas. You are not trying to manufacture a specific tone of voice.

Because of Jesus, you have unhindered access.

HEBREWS 4:16 (ESV)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

You are not distant. You are not desperately trying to reach Him through the clouds. You are stepping directly into His presence.

ROMANS 8:15 (ESV)

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’”

The word “Abba” is an Aramaic term used in everyday speech by children speaking to their father. It expresses total closeness, reliance, and trust. This does not mean your approach is careless or disrespectful. It means it is deeply personal.

MARK 14:36 (ESV)

“And he said, ‘Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.’”

Jesus Himself used this word when He prayed. Because of what Christ has done on the cross, you have been brought into that exact same relationship.

THE EXCLUSIVE TARGET

You can be entirely real with God. You can be honest. You can say exactly what is going on in your life.

PSALM 62:8 (ESV)

“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.”

AT THE SAME TIME, THIS RULE IS ABSOLUTE: YOU PRAY TO GOD ALONE.

1 TIMOTHY 2:5 (ESV)

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

THERE IS ONLY ONE MEDIATOR.

You do not pray to other people. You do not pray to dead saints. You do not pray to angels. You do not pray to anything created.

EXODUS 20:3 (ESV)

“You shall have no other gods before me.”

Prayer is an act of worship. It is directed solely to the Father, through the exclusive authority of Jesus Christ.

JOHN 14:6 (ESV)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

There is no other way. There is no other access point.

THE TACTICAL PATTERN

Jesus delivered a precise pattern for how to structure your communication.

MATTHEW 6:9-13 (ESV)

“Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’”

HE DID NOT SAY TO REPEAT THESE EXACT WORDS.
HE SAID TO PRAY LIKE THIS.
IT IS A PATTERN, NOT A DEAD SCRIPT.

Jesus specifically outlawed empty repetition.

MATTHEW 6:7 (ESV)

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.”

God does not respond to word counts. He responds to reality. When you speak to Him, He is right there.

PSALM 145:18 (ESV)

“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”

THE OPERATING STANDARDS

Do not overcomplicate this. Start talking to Him today. Over time, your prayer life will become a lethal, deeply natural reality.

TALK TO GOD DIRECTLY.
BE BRUTALLY HONEST.
PRAY TO THE FATHER ALONE. THROUGH THE SON ALONE.
TRUST HIM. STAY GROUNDED IN SCRIPTURE.
