WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

You have seen who the Holy Spirit is, and you understand that He is in you.
Now this must become practical.

NOT A FEELING YOU WAIT FOR.
A DIRECTION YOU CHOOSE.

How do you actually walk in the Spirit?

Scripture calls you to walk by the Spirit, which means your life is now guided by what God is doing in you instead of what your old nature pulls you toward.

GALATIANS 5:16 (ESV)

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

This is direct. As you walk by the Spirit, you do not follow the pull of sin.
This does not mean temptation disappears.
It means you are no longer controlled by it.

THE MIND DIRECTS THE WALK

Walking in the Spirit begins with your mind. What you set your mind on will shape your direction.

Scripture teaches that those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit, and that this leads to life and peace.

This means your focus matters. You are not letting your thoughts drift wherever they want. You are bringing them back to what is true.

Walking in the Spirit also means responding to what is right when you know it. The Spirit will not lead you into something that goes against Scripture. He leads in alignment with truth. When you know what is right, walking in the Spirit means you choose it.

This is where obedience connects directly to the Spirit. You are not trying to follow rules. You are responding to the direction God is giving you.

KEEPING IN STEP

Walking in the Spirit is also daily. It is not a single moment or experience. It is how you live.

Scripture teaches that if we live by the Spirit, we are also to keep in step with the Spirit.

That means you are moving with Him consistently, not occasionally.

This shows up in simple ways:

[ X ] When you are tempted, you do not give in.

[ X ] When you are corrected, you respond.

[ X ] When you know what is right, you choose it.

This is walking in the Spirit. It is not complicated, but it is consistent.

ORGANIC GROWTH AND TRUTH

Walking in the Spirit also produces change in you. You begin to see growth that is not forced.

Scripture describes the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

This is not something you create by effort. It is what grows as you continue walking in the Spirit.

The Word and the Spirit Always Align

Walking in the Spirit is not driven by emotion. It is not following impulses and calling them spiritual. The Spirit leads in truth, not in confusion. If something goes against Scripture, it is not the Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit also requires attention. You cannot ignore what God is doing in you and still expect to walk with Him. When you sense conviction, you respond. When you know what is right, you act. There will be times where you miss it. That does not mean you stop. You return and continue forward.

YOU ARE NOT TRYING TO CREATE SOMETHING NEW.

You are learning to live from what is already true.

/// Stay aware. ///
/// Stay grounded in truth. ///
/// Keep moving forward. ///

THE SPIRIT IS IN YOU.

NOW WALK IN STEP WITH HIM.
