CARRYING RESPONSIBILITY
You have learned how to serve, how to influence, and how to lead by example.
Now you must understand what comes with that.
THE WEIGHT OF
THE CALL.
As your influence grows, so does the weight placed in your hands. This is not something to take lightly.
Responsibility is not just about what you are given to do. It is about how you handle what has been entrusted to you.
Scripture teaches that each person will give an account. This means your actions, your decisions, and your direction matter. You are not living without weight. What you do has meaning, and it has an impact beyond yourself.
“So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
Carrying responsibility begins with understanding that you are a steward, not an owner.
What you have been given whether it is influence, opportunity, or leadership does not belong to you. It has been entrusted to you.
THE ONLY METRIC
Scripture establishes a single, unbending standard for anyone who has been entrusted with responsibility.
“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”
[ X ] The standard is not success.
[ X ] The standard is not recognition.
[ X ] The standard is not visible results.
[ X ] The standard is faithfulness.
This changes how you live. You are not trying to build something for yourself. You are handling what has been given with care, consistency, and integrity. You are aware that what you do affects others. Your decisions carry weight. Your consistency builds trust. Your direction influences those around you.
MORE IS REQUIRED
Responsibility also requires maturity. You do not act without thinking. You do not move without clarity. You take time to consider your actions because you understand the effect they have.
“Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.”
This means growth increases responsibility, not decreases it.
Carrying responsibility also means you do not avoid what is in front of you. There will be moments where responsibility feels heavy. Moments where it would be easier to step back, ignore it, or let someone else carry it. That is not how you grow. You step into what is in front of you with clarity and consistency.
At the same time, responsibility does not mean control. You are not trying to manage everything or carry what is not yours. You are responsible for what has been given to you, not everything around you. This requires discernment.
ABSOLUTE OWNERSHIP
There will be moments where you make mistakes. Carrying responsibility does not mean you are perfect. It means you respond correctly.
Avoiding responsibility weakens you. Taking it strengthens you.
Responsibility shapes your character. It builds discipline, consistency, and awareness. It forces you to grow beyond yourself. Over time, this becomes steady. You are no longer reacting to situations. You are leading within them.
THIS IS WHERE INFLUENCE BECOMES ACCOUNTABLE.
IN SIMPLE TERMS:
This is where leadership becomes real. This is where your walk carries weight.
Now that you understand what it means to carry responsibility, the next step is learning how to handle it correctly so it builds you instead of overwhelming you.
