APOSTLES AND PROPHETS TODAY

Dismantling the charlatanism of the New Apostolic Reformation and examining the forensic closure of the revelatory era.
PROLOGUE [ PENDING ]

THE CANONICAL SEAL

“Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone.” (Ephesians 2:20, LSB)

The supreme arrogance of the modern “New Apostolic Reformation” (NAR) is the assumption that the foundation of the Church is still being laid two thousand years after the cornerstone was set. To claim the office of **Apostolos** or **Prophetes** today is not merely a theological preference; it is an assault on the Sufficiency of Scripture.

In the economy of God, the offices of Apostle and Prophet were forensic, foundational roles designed to birth the Church and deliver the once-for-all revelation of the New Covenant. Once the foundation was laid and the Canon of Scripture was sealed, the offices ceased. To resurrect them is to invite the “mystery of lawlessness” into the pulpit.

SECTION 01 [ PENDING ]

THE FORENSIC REQUIREMENTS

ἀπόστολος APOSTOLOS (EYEWITNESS)

The primary criteria for an Apostle was to be an eyewitness of the resurrected Christ. (Acts 1:22; 1 Cor 9:1).

προφήτης PROPHETES (INFALLIBLE)

Biblical prophecy requires 100% accuracy. A “prophet” who misses once is a false teacher. (Deut 18:20-22).

θεόπνευστος THEOPNEUSTOS (REVELATION)

“God-breathed.” The Apostles and Prophets were the human instruments for divine revelation, now completed in the Bible.

The Apostle Paul identifies himself as the “last of all” to have seen the resurrected Lord (1 Corinthians 15:8). This statement is a forensic barrier. If there are no more eyewitnesses, there are no more Apostles. The office is closed.

SECTION 02 [ PENDING ]

THE CESSATION OF REVELATION

33 A.D. – 100 A.D. // THE APOSTOLIC ERA

The Foundation Period

The Apostles and Prophets operate with miraculous signs to authenticate the New Covenant revelation. The Gospel is preached, and the foundation is laid.

95 A.D. // THE SEALING OF THE CANON

The Final Word

John completes the Apocalypse. The warning is issued: “Do not add to these words.” Revelation is finished. The need for new “prophetic words” is biblically non-existent.

THE PRESENT AGE // THE SUFFICIENCY

The Era of the Teacher

The Church is no longer built on living Apostles, but on the *Apostolic Doctrine*. The overseers (elders) are commanded to protect the deposit of faith already given (2 Tim 2:2).

SECTION 03 [ PENDING ]

BIBLICAL REALITY VS. MODERN CLAIMS

THE BIBLICAL PROPHET

“For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

(2 Peter 1:21)
THE MODERN CLAIMANT

“I feel like the Lord is saying…” / “I see a 70% accuracy rate as acceptable growth in the prophetic.”

THE SPIRIT OF ERROR

Modern “prophecy” is a subjective, fallible exercise in intuition that mocks the terrifying precision of the biblical office. Those who claim to be Prophets today often provide vague, non-falsifiable predictions that serve their own platform rather than the glory of Christ.

THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE SON

“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son.” (Hebrews 1:1-2, LSB). The “last days” began with Christ. The final word has been spoken. To seek new Apostles is to imply that the Son’s revelation was incomplete. The Church does not need new prophets; she needs to believe the ones she already has in the Word of God.
