The supreme error of the modern church is the reduction of eschatology to a tabloid-style obsession with future events. By treating the Bible like a secret code for the 24-hour news cycle, the church has lost the **Covenantal Gravity** of Christ’s return. Eschatology is not about “escape”; it is about the **Consummation of the Kingdom**.
Whether one holds to Amillennialism, Postmillennialism, or Premillennialism, the core remains: The King is returning to judge the living and the dead. To understand the end, we must master the vocabulary of the Spirit *Parousia*, *Harpazo*, and the *Thlipsis*.
THE TIMING OF THE HARPAZO
The debate over the “Rapture” (a Latinism for the Greek *Harpazo*) is primarily a debate over the timing of the Church’s union with Christ relative to the Great Tribulation. Dispensationalism posits a “Pre-Trib” escape; Historical Premillennialism and Post-Tribulationism posit a “through-the-fire” purification.

The Secret Snatching
Asserts that the Church is removed *before* the 70th week of Daniel. This creates a two-stage return of Christ one for the Church and another with the Church.
The Refiner’s Fire
Argues that the Church must endure the *thlipsis* (tribulation) as a final purification, meeting Christ in the air and immediately descending to Earth for judgment.
The Inaugurated Kingdom
Views the “thousand years” as the current age of the Church’s witness. The Rapture, Judgment, and Resurrection occur as a single, thunderous event.
THE TRIAD OF PERSPECTIVES
Spiritually Realized
The millennium is now. Christ is reigning from the throne of David in heaven. The binding of Satan occurred at the Cross, allowing the Gospel to go to the nations.
Physically Literal
Christ returns physically *before* the thousand years to establish an earthly kingdom. Includes both Historical and Dispensational varieties.
Gospel Victory
The world will be progressively Christianized through the preaching of the Gospel. Christ returns *after* the earth has been subdued under His feet.
LEXICAL MECHANICS // THE RETURN
“Manifestation / Appearing.” The visible, radiant reveal of the King’s presence.
“Unveiling.” The removal of the veil between the celestial and terrestrial realms.
THE SOVEREIGN CONSUMMATION
The end is not a puzzle to be solved, but a Person to be adored. Whether the Church is snatched away or carries the cross through the tribulation, the decree of God remains unshakeable.
The Elect are kept by the power of God. The Antichrist is a creature on a leash. The Apocalypse is the victory of the Lamb. Maranatha.
