STRATEGIC PROFILE

THE MESSIAH

Before asking what Jesus did, or why salvation is needed, we must answer the most basic question: Who is He?

ACT I // ETERNAL ORIGIN

He Did Not Begin in Bethlehem

The birth of Jesus was not His beginning. It was His entrance into human history. Before creation existed, Jesus existed.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” JOHN 1:1

Scripture calls Him “the Word” because He is the expression of God Himself. He is not created. He is the Creator.

“He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him.” JOHN 1:2, 3
ACT II // DIVINE NATURE

Jesus Is God

Jesus is not merely sent by God. He is God revealed. Scripture does not soften this claim. Everything that is true of God’s nature is present in Jesus.

“I and the Father are one.” JOHN 10:30
“In Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.” COLOSSIANS 2:9

When Jesus speaks, God speaks. When Jesus acts, God acts.

ACT III // THE INCARNATION

Fully God. Fully Human.

Jesus was fully human. Not pretending. Not appearing. Fully. He experienced hunger, fatigue, pain, and loneliness. He stepped fully into the human struggle.

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” JOHN 1:14
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” HEBREWS 4:15

Jesus understands your struggle because He lived it. If He were only God, He could not represent us. If He were only human, He could not save us. Both are required.

ACT IV // THE OBJECTIVE

He Knew Why He Came

Jesus did not stumble into His mission. He did not come build an empire or to build a behavioral improvement program. He came to rescue.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” LUKE 19:10

Jesus did not come to be served. In a world obsessed with power, He reversed expectations to give His life as a ransom.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” MARK 10:45
ACT V // THE VOLUNTARY SACRIFICE

Jesus Chose the Cross

The cross was not forced on Jesus. It was not a loss of control. It was the purpose toward which He moved with absolute intention.

“No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord.” JOHN 10:18
“Not My will, but Yours, be done.” LUKE 22:42

He spoke about His death long before it happened. It was not a tragedy; it was the plan.

ACT VI // THE RANSOM

Jesus Died for Our Sins

Jesus did not die merely to show love. He died to deal with sin. Scripture shows that God’s justice was satisfied through Christ standing in our place.

“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.” 1 CORINTHIANS 15:3
“He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities.” ISAIAH 53:5

Forgiveness is possible not because sin was overlooked, but because it was addressed. He carried what belonged to us.

ACT VII // THE VICTORY

Jesus Is Alive

The story does not end at the cross. The resurrection is foundational. It confirms everything He claimed and proves the sacrifice was accepted.

“He is not here, for He has risen.” MATTHEW 28:6
“If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” 1 CORINTHIANS 15:17

Death was defeated. Jesus is alive and He was raised for our justification.

What Was Accomplished

By His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus achieved a final victory. Sin was dealt with. Death was defeated. Reconciliation with God was made possible.

THIS IS NOT SOMETHING HUMANITY COMPLETES. IT IS SOMETHING HUMANITY RECEIVES.
