CODE LAB
Cipher does not hand out pretend secret codes. Here you learn real methods people have used to represent, hide, transmit, and break messages. The Bible gives us the truth and the clues. You still have to do the thinking.

CIPHER’S LAB DESK
WHAT IS A CIPHER?
Plaintext is the readable message. A cipher applies a rule that transforms a message so it is not immediately readable. To decipher it, you identify or know the rule and reverse the transformation.
CODE, CIPHER, OR ENCODING?
A1Z26 represents letters with alphabet positions. It is useful training, but it offers almost no secrecy. Later you will meet actual classical ciphers such as Caesar and substitution, where a key or transformation changes the letters.
HOW CIPHER SOLVES
Do not attack a strange message randomly. Observe the symbols. Find repetition. Test a rule. Check whether the result makes sense. If the rule fails, change the hypothesis instead of forcing the answer.
CIPHER’S FOUR-STEP METHOD
A1Z26 PRACTICE MACHINE
Before the graded work, experiment. Type your own message and watch it become alphabet positions, or paste A1Z26 numbers and turn them back into letters. This practice machine does not award XP. It exists so you can learn the mechanism.

LEARN THE RULE
A1Z26 assigns each English letter its position in the alphabet. A is 1, B is 2, and Z is 26. It is useful for learning how information can be represented, but it is not secure encryption. Anyone who discovers the rule can read it.
CODE LAB RULE: Learn it. Use it. Build it. Then prove you can recognize it without Cipher doing the work for you.
1 • DECODE IT
Turn these numbers back into letters.
2 • BUILD IT
Now reverse the process. Encode the word FAITH.
3 • PROVE IT
The training message is longer now. The rule has not changed.
WHY THIS MESSAGE?
Jesus connects continuing in His word, being His disciples, knowing the truth, and the truth making them free.
The cipher does not reveal a hidden biblical meaning. It only hides ordinary text. Once you recover the sentence, the next job is to read the verse in its biblical context.
That distinction matters: Code Lab teaches real code methods while Scripture remains Scripture. We are not inventing secret meanings inside the Bible.

🗄 CIPHER’S NUMBER DRAWERS
Decode 6 1 9 20 8. That gives you the word FAITH. Now use the drawers to rebuild that word one letter at a time.
🛠 ERROR HUNTER
Cipher claims this says TRUTH. One number is wrong. Find the bad number and type the correct replacement.
📜 SCRIPTURE HUNT
Decode this reference. Then enter the book, chapter, and verse exactly as a normal reference.
🎭 RED HERRING
Not every number belongs to the message. Values above 26 cannot be ordinary A1Z26 letters. Recover the word:
⚔ CIPHER BATTLE
Cipher encoded a word without separators: 161202051814. Find a sensible split and recover his word.
🧪 BUILD A PUZZLE
Write a message for somebody else. The lab will encode it, but you decide whether to keep spaces or remove them to make it harder.
◈ CIPHER’S IMPOSSIBLE BOARD
This board has been here the entire time. Cipher offers no instructions. Parts of it may be meaningless until you have learned enough.

SCRIPTURE BEFORE THE LOCK
Use A1Z26 to uncover the passage. Then study what Jesus teaches in context. What you learn here will matter when you reach the Vault.
10 15 8 14 8 : 31 - 36Use A1Z26. Numbers become letters.Jesus is not teaching that knowing random facts makes someone free. He tells those who had believed Him that a true disciple continues in His word. He connects knowing the truth with freedom.
When they object, Jesus explains the deeper problem: everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. He then points to the Son as the One who makes a person truly free.
Follow the passage carefully: continue in Jesus’ word, know the truth, recognize slavery to sin, and understand that real freedom comes through the Son.
Answer each question from the passage. Wrong answers are part of learning, so keep trying.
John 8:31-36
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s seed and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”
Read the whole passage carefully. The final key is revealed after the Scripture lesson.
Cipher has removed some of the training wheels. Whole words may already be letters, while other whole words are still A1Z26 numbers. Decode only what still needs decoding.
