CONFIDENCE IN THAT IDENTITY

You have seen that you are a child of God. You have seen your position with Him is secure, not based on how you feel or perform, but on what He has done through Jesus.
Now you must learn to live with confidence in that identity.

GROUNDED IN
THE DECLARATION

Confidence does not come from yourself. It comes from what God has declared to be true.

If your confidence is based on your consistency, it will rise and fall. If it is based on your emotions, it will shift. But when it is grounded in what God has said, it becomes steady.

HEBREWS 4:16 (ESV)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

This is not a suggestion. It is a result of what Christ has done.

You are not approaching God as someone unsure of your place.

You are coming as someone who belongs.

THE END OF FEAR

1 JOHN 4:18 (ESV)

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

Fear has to do with punishment, but you are not under condemnation.

That means your relationship with God is not defined by fear. It is defined by love and security in Him.

STANDING IN WHAT IS TRUE

Confidence in your identity does not mean arrogance. It does not mean you rely on yourself.

It means you trust what God has said over what you feel.
It means when your thoughts try to pull you back into your old identity, you stand in what is true.

There will be moments where you feel like you have failed. There will be times where your thoughts try to tell you that you are still who you used to be. This is where confidence matters.

YOU DO NOT GO BACK TO QUESTIONING YOUR IDENTITY.

YOU RETURN TO WHAT IS TRUE.

ROMANS 8:1 (ESV)

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

That is not temporary. That is your position. When you understand this, you stop living in uncertainty.

LIVING FROM ACCEPTANCE

Confidence also affects how you live. When you know who you are, you stop living like you do not belong. You stop holding back. You stop approaching God at a distance.

Instead, you live as someone who is already accepted.

[ X ] This changes how you pray. You speak openly, not trying to impress, but speaking honestly.

[ X ] This changes how you respond to failure. You do not run from God. You return to Him.

[ X ] This changes how you face challenges. You are not alone or uncertain. You are grounded.

Confidence in your identity is built by staying in truth. As you continue in the Word, what is true becomes clear. As you continue in prayer, your relationship stays active. Over time, confidence grows because it is rooted in something that does not change.

YOU ARE NOT BUILDING CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF.

YOU ARE STANDING IN WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY SAID.

/// You are His. ///
/// You are accepted. ///
/// You are secure. ///

Let that settle. Let that shape how you think. Let that change how you live.
