LIVING AS NEW

You have seen that your old life is gone.
Now you must understand what it means to live as new.

NOT JUST SURVIVING.
OPERATING.

Being made new is not just something that happened to you.

It is something you now live from.

You are not trying to become a different person. You are learning to live as someone who already is different because of what God has done. Your life now has a different foundation.

You are no longer living from your past, your sin, or your old identity.

You are living from what is true about you in Christ.

THE RENEWAL OF THE MIND

Because of this, your thinking must change. The way you see yourself, the way you respond, and the way you make decisions are no longer based on who you were.

ROMANS 12:2 (ESV)

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

This means your life begins to change as your thinking is shaped by truth.

[ X ] You are not just reacting to situations.

[ X ] You are learning to respond from what God has said is true.

PUTTING OFF AND PUTTING ON

Living as new also means putting off what no longer belongs to you. Your old patterns, your old ways of thinking, and your old responses do not fit who you are now. You do not carry those forward as if nothing has changed.

At the same time, this is not just about removing what is old. It is about living in what is new.

COLOSSIANS 3:9–10 (ESV)

“…seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”

This means your life begins to reflect what God is doing in you.
It shows up in how you speak and how you respond under pressure.
It is seen in how you handle conflict and make decisions when no one is watching.

DIRECTION, NOT PERFECTION

You are not trying to force change.

You are learning to walk in it.

GALATIANS 5:24–25 (ESV)

“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

This means your direction has changed. You are no longer following what pulls you. You are learning to follow what is true.

There will be moments where you fall short. That does not mean you go back to who you were. It means you return and continue forward.

GROWTH IS NOT PERFECTION. IT IS DIRECTION.

This is why you stay grounded in the Word and consistent in prayer. These are not separate from your identity. They are how you live it out.

LIVING AS NEW IS NOT ABOUT TRYING HARDER.

IT IS ABOUT LIVING FROM WHAT IS ALREADY TRUE.

/// You are not becoming new. ///
/// You are living as someone who has been made new. ///
/// STAY IN THAT. WALK IN THAT. ///
