HELPING OTHERS GROW
You now understand what it means to teach truth clearly.
The next step is understanding the purpose behind it.
TRUTH MUST BECOME
LIVED.
Teaching is not complete when truth is spoken. It is complete when truth is lived.
Helping others grow means you are not only explaining what is right. You are helping them move toward it in a real and steady way.
Scripture shows that growth is the goal. Believers are not meant to remain immature or uncertain. They are meant to grow in understanding, stability, and obedience. This means teaching must go beyond information. It must lead to transformation.
“so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine… Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,”
[ X ] You must communicate truth in a way that is simple enough to grasp.
[ X ] You must communicate truth in a way that is strong enough to hold.
[ X ] You are not trying to impress. You are trying to make truth clear so it can be applied.
MEETING THEM WHERE THEY ARE
Helping others grow also means you are aware of where they are. You do not expect someone new to understand everything at once. You meet them at their level and help them move forward.
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food… But solid food is for the mature,”
Scripture shows that some need basic teaching while others are ready for deeper understanding. This requires discernment.
Growth requires patience. Not everyone learns at the same pace. Not everyone responds immediately. You do not rush people. You stay steady. You continue to guide them without frustration.
THE DISCIPLINE OF CORRECTION
Growth also requires correction. If something is wrong, it must be addressed. This is not done harshly. It is done clearly and correctly.
“preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
Scripture teaches that correction is part of growth. Without it, people remain stuck. With it, they can move forward. At the same time, correction is only half the requirement.
You must also encourage.
You strengthen what is right. You help people see progress so they do not become discouraged. Growth is built through both clarity and encouragement.
BUILDING UP
Helping others grow also means you are consistent. You do not teach once and walk away. You stay engaged. You continue to guide, answer, and support. Growth happens over time, not in a single moment.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
Your role is not only to teach but to strengthen.
You are helping others become steady in their walk. The goal is not that they become dependent on you, but that they become grounded in truth.
THIS IS HOW LEADERSHIP MULTIPLIES.
IN SIMPLE TERMS:
This is how truth becomes real in someone’s life. This is how teaching becomes effective.
Now that you understand how to help others grow, the next step is learning how to remain accurate and careful in what you teach so truth is passed on correctly.
