TRIAL OF REFINEMENT
Growth is not always comfortable.
Sometimes conviction feels heavy before it becomes healing. Sometimes God brings hidden things to the surface things that must be mortified before deeper spiritual maturity can begin.
Refinement is not punishment. It is the process of sanctification. It is the grace of God stripping away the dross so you become stronger, clearer, and more grounded in Him than before.
- Take time to pray honestly about one specific area of weakness or unrepented sin in your life.
- Do not justify it. Do not attempt to hide it. Bring it before a Holy God openly.
- Read one chapter of Scripture deeply connected to repentance, endurance, or growth. (Suggested: Hebrews 12 or Psalm 51)
Acknowledge the conviction. Choose one practical action.
“Fire does not only destroy.
Sometimes it removes what was never meant to remain.”
“Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
James 1:2-4 (LSB)
