TRIAL OF SILENCE
The world is loud by design.
Constant noise. Constant stimulation. Constant distraction. It is a manufactured chaos meant to drown out conviction, crowd out peace, and suffocate truth.
We use noise as an anesthetic. We plug it into our ears and place it in front of our eyes to avoid facing the reality of our own souls before a holy God. But spiritual depth is never forged in a crowd; it is forged in the secret place.
Before you continue deeper into the War Room, you must step out of the noise.
This is not a test to perform. There is no one to impress here. This is the mortification of distraction. You are taking a posture of absolute submission to the voice of God through His Word.
- Sever all inputs. No music. No scrolling. No videos. No multitasking. Put your device out of reach once the timer starts.
- Sit quietly. Your mind will rebel. It will demand dopamine and stimulation. Deny it. Let the restlessness burn itself out.
- Pray honestly. Do not manufacture profound, empty words. Speak to God with the raw, unfiltered reality of where you are.
- Enter the Text. Read a single chapter of Scripture slowly. (Suggested: John 15 or Romans 8). Read it as if your life depends on what it says.
- Observe the interior. Pay precise attention to the sudden convictions, the buried anxieties that surface, and the heavy weight of God’s peace.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10 (ESV)Not all spiritual warfare is loud.
The enemy owns the noise. God commands the stillness.
Execute the directive. Then return.
