WHAT IS TRUE SALVATION
Dismantling decisional fraud, destroying demonic faith, and auditing the supernatural resurrection of the redeemed soul.THE DECISIONAL FRAUD
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9, LSB)
The contemporary evangelical church has engineered a counterfeit gospel. For over a century, beginning with the psychologically manipulative revivalist tactics of Charles Finney, the doctrine of salvation has been stripped of its divine, miraculous violence and reduced to a sterile transaction. Men are told to “make a decision for Christ,” to recite a pre-packaged sinner’s prayer, and to sign a card to guarantee their eternal fire insurance.
Movements like the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and modern revivalism have entirely traded the faith ἅπαξ (hapax) once for all handed down to the saints for emotional experientialism. This psychological machinery produces millions of unregenerate converts who possess a false assurance of salvation while remaining entirely dead in their trespasses and sins.
The biblical record violently rejects this paradigm. True salvation is not a human decision made by an autonomous, sovereign will. It is a supernatural resurrection. It is the unilateral invasion of God into the dead heart of an enemy. We are submitting the doctrine of salvation to the crucible of the Greek text, the historical consensus of the early Church, and the uncompromising standard of the Apostolic canon.
THE LEXICAL BASELINE
The theological devastation of modern preaching begins with a profound ignorance of biblical languages. In the entire corpus of Koine Greek literature, the terms σωτηρία (sōtēria) and σῴζω (sōzō) do not mean “to improve” or “to reform.” They mean to rescue a victim from imminent, inescapable destruction. You are not saved from a bad marriage or a lack of purpose; you are saved from the unmitigated, holy wrath of Yahweh.
Furthermore, the biblical mechanism by which this salvation is applied is rooted in the term δικαιόω (dikaioō) to justify. Modern moralists and Roman Catholicism teach an “infused” righteousness, whereby a man is made inherently good over time by cooperating with grace. The Apostles taught a forensic righteousness. Justification is a legal courtroom declaration. It is the Judge of the Universe striking down the guilty verdict because the alien righteousness of Jesus Christ has been imputed (λογίζομαι) to the account of the believer.

THE DEMONIC FAITH DECEPTION
The great delusion of the twenty-first century is the equation of intellectual assent with saving faith. Men believe that because they acknowledge the historical facts of Jesus’ death and resurrection, they possess salvific faith. The book of James violently executes this heresy by introducing the terrifying reality of orthodox demons.
“If you intellectually agree that Jesus is God and that He died on the cross, your faith has secured your salvation.”
EASY-BELIEVISM“You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”
JAMES 2:19 (LSB)Demons possess flawless, orthodox theology. They are strictly monotheistic. They know exactly who Jesus Christ is, they know He died on the cross, and they know He rose from the dead. Yet, their “faith” does not save them; it only causes them to shudder in absolute terror. Historical faith acknowledges the facts. Saving faith given solely by the Holy Spirit abandons all self-reliance and casts the entire weight of the soul upon the finished work of Christ.
THE COST OF THE CROSS
The modern presentation of salvation has intentionally excised the demand for repentance because repentance is highly offensive to the unregenerate mind. Jesus Christ did not invite men to simply add Him to their existing secular lives as a spiritual accessory. He demanded an execution.
“And He was saying to them all, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.'” (Luke 9:23, LSB).
In the first century, the cross was not a piece of gold jewelry worn around the neck. It was an instrument of excruciating, humiliating torture and execution. To “take up your cross” meant one thing to the original audience: you are walking to the place of your death. True salvation requires the absolute repudiation of self-rule, the violent severing of your affection for sin, and unconditional surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. You cannot accept Jesus as Savior while rejecting Him as Lord.
“When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”
THE MANDATE OF ENDURANCE
How does a man know if he possesses the saving faith of God or the shuddering faith of a demon? The New Testament offers a singular, ruthless diagnostic: Endurance. The modern heresy of the “carnal Christian” the idea that a person can be truly saved while actively, perpetually, and unrepentantly living in sin is a doctrine of demons.
While true eternal security is an absolute biblical reality for the elect, the proof that you are part of the elect is that you endure in holiness. The Apostle Paul writes, “So then, my beloved… work out your salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12, LSB). Justification is an instantaneous, monergistic act of God, but sanctification is a brutal, synergistic war involving the believer’s active obedience.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF PERSEVERANCE
If a man “falls away” and utterly abandons the faith, he did not lose his salvation. He simply proved he never possessed it to begin with. The faith that fizzles out in the fire of persecution or the allure of the world was a fraudulent, decisional faith. Saving faith is inextinguishable because it is sustained by the intercessory power of Jesus Christ.
THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
True biblical salvation is the most violently disruptive force in the cosmos. It is not an addition to a man’s life; it is the absolute crucifixion of the old nature and the miraculous impartation of the divine nature.
The sole, uncompromising evidence of justification is a life of sustained, progressive sanctification and radical hatred of sin. We must incinerate the psychological manipulation of easy-believism and return to the staggering weight of the Apostolic Gospel. Salvation belongs to the Lord, and those whom He saves, He irrevocably transforms.
