WHAT HE DID
You have seen who Jesus is.
You have seen why He came.
Now we begin to understand what He accomplished.
JESUS DID NOT COME
TO GIVE ADVICE.
He came to accomplish a mission that humanity was entirely incapable of completing.
Scripture details this step by step.
HE LIVED WITHOUT SIN
Before anything else, this must be absolute.
Jesus did not share in our sin.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
“He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
Yet He never broke rank. He never sinned.
This is critical.
A guilty man cannot pay for another guilty man. Only a spotless sacrifice could stand in the place of sinners.
HE FULFILLED THE REQUIREMENT
The standard of a Holy God is absolute perfection.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
Humanity failed the test.
Jesus did not.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
[ X ] Humanity fell short.
[ X ] Jesus completed the assignment.
THE GREAT EXCHANGE
This is the center of the Gospel.
“The Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
He stood where you should stand.
He took the judgment you deserved.
HE PAID THE DEBT
Sin demands a penalty.
“For the wages of sin is death.”
God does not sweep sin under the rug.
The penalty was paid in blood.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree.”
“Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”
Forgiveness is only possible because the ultimate payment was made.
HE FINISHED THE WORK
Jesus did not leave anything undone. He did not pay 99% of the debt and ask you to cover the rest.
“It is finished.”
“But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.”
HE CONQUERED DEATH
His mission did not end in a tomb.
“Christ died for our sins… that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.”
“Who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
The resurrection is the receipt. It proves the payment was accepted and the debt is cleared.
Death could not hold Him.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
Jesus did what no one else could do.
Your salvation is not a checklist you complete.
It is a gift you receive based entirely on what He accomplished.
Do not rush past this. This is the bedrock foundation for everything you will build your life upon.
