FEELINGS VS TRUTH
You have the Word of God.
Now you must decide if you will actually believe it
when your emotions tell you otherwise.
YOUR HEART WILL
LIE TO YOU.
The culture says “follow your heart.”
The culture says “your truth is what you feel.”
Biblically, that is a death sentence.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”
[ X ] Your emotions are fallen.
[ X ] Your emotions are unstable.
[ X ] Your emotions are easily manipulated.
Feelings are real, but they are not reliable indicators of reality.
THE SHIFTING SAND
There will be mornings when you wake up and do not feel saved.
There will be seasons when you feel God is distant.
If your theology is built on your mood, you will collapse under fire.
“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”
Truth does not need your emotional validation to be true.
The cross did not change because you had a bad day.
FACT. FAITH. FEELING.
God establishes the Facts in His Word.
You respond with Faith in those Facts.
Feelings may or may not follow.
“for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Sight is not just what you see with your eyes.
Sight is what you experience with your senses. What you feel.
COMMANDING THE MIND
You are not a passive victim of your thoughts.
Under Christ, you are the commander of your mind.
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ”
When a feeling contradicts the Word of God, you do not entertain it.
You do not analyze it. You arrest it.
TAKE IT CAPTIVE.
DO NOT LET YOUR FEELINGS VOTE ON YOUR THEOLOGY.
When the enemy whispers that you are condemned, you point to Romans 8:1.
When your heart tells you God has abandoned you, you point to Hebrews 13:5.
